What is a market order?

A market order means buy or sell right now, at today’s price. It is the simplest kind: it happens straight away.

The coin is at $100.
You place a market buy for $100.
→ You get 1 coin at about $100, immediately.

What is a limit order?

A limit order means only buy or sell at the price I choose, or better. It waits until the price gets there, and may never happen if it does not.

You placeThe coin is at $100, then…What happens
Limit buy at $95falls to $95You buy at $95
Limit buy at $95rises to $110Nothing: still waiting
Limit sell at $120rises to $120You sell at $120

What is a stop-loss order?

A stop-loss sells automatically if the price falls to a level you pick, so a loss cannot grow past it.

  1. 1You buy 1 coin at $100.
  2. 2You set a stop-loss at $90.
  3. 3The price drops to $90: the coin is sold for you.
  4. 4You lose about $10 (−10%) instead of watching it keep falling.

What is a take-profit order?

A take-profit is the opposite: it sells automatically when the price rises to your target, locking in the gain.

Bought 1 coin at $100. Take-profit at $120.
The price reaches $120 → sold for you.
You keep a $20 (+20%) profit.

Which orders does Tradeground use?

Tradeground uses market orders only for now: every buy or sell fills straight away at the last synced price, shown under the order button.

No limit or stop orders yet. To act at a price you choose, plan it ahead, or (with Pro) set a price alert and trade when it fires.
